EA-Global Solar Manufacturing Division
Energy America’s Global Solar Manufacturing Division is a world-class production network delivering advanced solar technologies for customers worldwide. We engineer and build high-quality solar panels at scale, with facilities spanning Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the United States. Our capabilities are designed to meet the needs of B2B project developers, investors, and government stakeholders alike – ensuring reliable supply, cutting-edge innovation, and strict compliance with industry and regulatory standards. Below we outline our manufacturing footprint, technology stack, certifications, sustainability practices, and what sets us apart in the solar industry.
Romania (2 Factories)
Our two Romanian facilities handle solar cell and module production for the European market. The first site is fully operational and the second was recently commissioned in 2024, expanding our regional capacity. Both factories utilize high-automation assembly lines (including robotics for cell handling and module lamination) to ensure consistent quality. They are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified, with TÜV-audited processes to meet EU standards. A skilled local workforce of engineers and technicians runs these plants, supported by our global engineering team. These sites produce high-efficiency N-type cells and assemble modules for export across Europe, with a focus on quality and compliance.
Dubai, UAE (2 Factories)
In Dubai we operate two module assembly factories serving the Middle East and Africa. The latest factory opened in 2023 with state-of-the-art automated lines for cell interconnection, framing, and testing. These facilities primarily assemble PV modules (using imported high-performance cells) with an emphasis on speed and scale for utility-scale projects. Both UAE factories are fully automated at key production steps and ISO-certified for quality and environmental management. They hold regional certifications (IEC/TÜV) to meet international export requirements. Our Dubai plants benefit from a diverse, well-trained workforce and strategic location in a logistics hub, enabling rapid shipment to projects across MENA.
USA – Los Angeles (1 GW)
Our Los Angeles facility is a 1 GW solar module plant established to support the U.S. market. Commissioned in 2024, this factory produces high-efficiency modules with fully automated assembly lines – from cell soldering and layup to lamination and flash testing – enabling consistent output and lower labor costs. The LA plant is IRA-compliant, using domestically sourced or allied-nation components so that the finished panels qualify for Inflation Reduction Act incentives. It is on track for ISO 9001/14001 certification and follows rigorous U.S. safety standards (including UL certification for all modules). The facility’s workforce includes American manufacturing experts and veterans, reflecting our commitment to U.S. job creation. With this plant, Energy America can supply 100% U.S.-made solar modules for government and commercial projects, free of Foreign Entity of Concern issues, and deliver them with minimal lead time to North American sites.
(All facilities maintain consistent quality control systems – each location features automated production lines and precision engineering under strict quality standards, ensuring that whether a panel is made in Europe, Asia or the USA, it meets the same performance criteria.)
Advanced Cell Technologies
We produce solar cells using cutting-edge designs including N-type TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) cells for high efficiency and low degradation, HJT (Heterojunction) cells known for superior temperature performance, IBC (Interdigitated Back Contact) cells for maximum energy yield, as well as high-volume PERC cells for balanced cost and efficiency. By leveraging multiple cell technologies, we can optimize for the best solution in each project – whether it’s maximizing efficiency, lowering cost per watt, or improving low-light performance. We manufacture both bifacial cells/modules (to capture sunlight on both sides for greater yield) and monofacial modules as needed, giving clients flexibility in design. Our R&D and production teams continuously evaluate new cell innovations to stay at the forefront of solar tech.
Advanced Selenium Interlayer Technology (R&D)
Through our Centauri R&D division (in partnership with NASA), we are developing a breakthrough selenium interlayer bonding technology for next-generation solar cells. Originally pioneered by NASA for space applications, this technology allows us to bond high-efficiency III–V semiconductor solar cells to silicon wafers using a thin selenium layer. The result is a multi-junction cell with unprecedented efficiency and durability: by combining III–V top cells with a silicon bottom cell, this architecture can achieve conversion efficiencies well above 30% (potentially 40%+), far exceeding conventional single-junction cells. The Centauri program is actively commercializing this technology for both terrestrial and space use, meaning future Energy America modules could reach ~38% efficiency levels in production. This NASA-backed innovation underscores our commitment to pushing the envelope of PV performance and gives our partners early access to game-changing solar products
Module Range and Performance
Our module product lineup ranges from robust 400 W panels up to ultra-high-output 780 W panels, covering applications from small commercial roofs to large utility-scale farms. Current monofacial and bifacial module series achieve efficiencies from about 19% up to ~38% on our latest prototypes, offering industry-leading performance for any project class. Each module is engineered for reliability in diverse climates. We have proven bifacial panels optimized for high-albedo environments (snow fields, desert sand), ruggedized modules with extra UV and sand resistance for desert installations, anti-corrosion coated frames and glass for coastal salt-mist areas, and reinforced designs for heavy snow and wind loads. Our panels are tested to perform in extreme conditions – from equatorial humidity to high-altitude cold – ensuring stable output over decades. This breadth of technologies and designs allows us to deliver the ideal solar module solution for virtually any environment or use-case.
